Taking a crack at saltwater and figured I'd go all in. Built my own sump and all. Thoughts, comments, suggestions would all be appreciated.

The sump has about 5 lbs of live rock in it now as most of it went into the tank.

I decided to change it around as after I put my powerheads in I had a few dead spots.

Got my lights in today and built a hood. Having problems with my sand being blown from the front middle of the tank. Any suggestions on how to avoid this? I've tried multiple placements of the powerheads and it keeps happening in the middle third of the tank.

Any thoughts on powerhead placement? Moved them again and still the same thing in the middle front.

So, turns out I have a customer that owns an aquarium service company. Took some of his suggestions to heart and made a few changes over the past few weeks. Here's where we are now...

Try and put the powerheads a little lower. Also place one more towards back of tank. On the other end place it more towards front of tank. This will cause a cyclone in the tank. Then the third one you could have turn on at random times for random flow.

They kinda look like clove polyps if they are receive them now they will take over and kill all other corals.
