In a 90 gallon your going to need a bit more ;). hermits would be better once you manually remove as much you can. What you can do is place the frag in a bowl with the hermits so they can't go anywhere and they'll go straight for the algae and start picking away!
Any specific type of hermit??

I am not always great at IDing stuff, but this kinda looks like bryopsis to me.

I agree, it looks like bryopsis and it will grow in zero measurable nutrients.

Time for a little flaconazole treatment.

I am by no means an expert, but when I zoom in, in person, it doesn't seem to match bryopsis descriptions.. I'm heading to LFS now to ask him, which is where I got it from. If I do fluconazole, can some point me to where info on it is? I saw a forum but can't find it on Tapatalk for some reason :) thanks for the input!

What made me think bryopsis is the stiff looking structure of the algae. In my experience, hair algae looks fuzzy and less structurized. Do you have access to a microscope?

And I could be completely wrong (and hope I am). It is just easier to prevent bryopsis than to get rid of it :(

I would post your pictures over in that killing bryopsis thread and ask their opinion what they think it is.

The fluconazole is even killing GHA for some people.

Update- the cloves aren't gonna make it and the zoas are alive but not open. I am thinking they're too far from the light. Which brings me to my problem. I like my aquascape but I have NO artistic ability to change it. I think the zoas are too far from the light source (hydraHD 26)

SO i went ahead and redid my aquascape and I hate it of course. Ugh. It looks like a bunch of rocks fell from a bridge and landed there. Anyone want to come over and redo it for me?? haha. I'll pay gas, beer, and dinner. just sayin' because I suck at the artistic part.

Algae and diatoms almost 100% gone, very happy about that.
