Bought 3 brand new G4 Pro fixtures in december and one of them just started turning off and the control buttons started flashing red. Anyone know what that fault is indicating?

Vince.

Is it flashing just red or cycling between red and another color?

I just had a Gen3 flashing red. Returned it to Eccotech... I would submit a ticket to EccoTech support.

Have you tried unplugging it for 5 minutes and then plugging it back in. And make sure the fan is running that it didnt overheat.

There is also trying to Reset the Device in Eccotech Desktop software... Have you tried that?

I did shut it down for for about 30 min incase it had overheated. Once I turned it back on though it immediately error out again.
I haven't done a full software reset on the light. Was wanting to know what error code the flashing red light was supposed to indicate.

I submitted a ticket to Ecotech and they told me to ship it back in for diagnosis. I live in hawaii and shipping is pretty pricy so if its just a part I need to swap it would be much cheaper to buy the part then to ship it to them and then pay for the part.

I'm assuming the error code the fixture is showing is similar to a car were the code indicates the problem. Anyone from Ecotech Marine able to shed some light on the error codes for the G4 fixture and what they mean.

Vince,
They told me my Gen3 Red Flashing light was a Control Board and they didn't have parts to Replace. Are you still under Warranty being it's a Gen4?? They were kind enough to offer me a Gen4 for a reduced price which was very fair.

Yes its still under warranty. Sounds like something I will have to end up sending it into Ecotech after all.

I feel your Pain man!!! I own 3 Gen4 XR15's on my display tank, the Gen3 Xr15 I had was on a frag tank.... I has just picked it up 6 months before. think I paid 250 for it, or it that range. I tried everything I could with the Red Flashing light. Even the reset didn't work. Good Luck!!
