I put 3 tuxedo s in my tank and in one month GHA totally gone. I may have to give them to my LFS because I'm worried they won't get enough to eat now. They are awesome.

Same here but I have a 125 gal as a sump in the basement so I plan to move them down there when the tank is clean. Nice thing about them is they are easy to catch and move around. I placed mine on a pile of gha on my overflow after temp aclimating and they attached immediately and went to work. I had a few wild caught ones in the past and they didn't seem to eat as well and did not survive long so I'm happy to pay a few dollars more for captive bred ones.

I have captive bred tuxedos and varigated. Love them all for their work. Always fun to see what they will carry too.

I've heard the issue with urchins is they also eat coraline algae, is that not true? I've used Sea hares but they mow it down so quickly you can't keep them long which is frustrating when the remaining algae grows back.

Yep, urchins love coralline algae. It is nice if they take it off your walls, but they can leave little marks on your rock. Usually not a big deal.

i have a small tuxedo in my sump, and it literally took out the outer layer/lining of my marine pure bio media. it's taking down the GHA/turf down there, but also my media :(
