My hammer has worms..

My whole tank has these things, I know generally they aren't a problem, but over the last 3-4 weeks (maybe less, just don't want to over exaggerate) it went from none, to this. Should I leave them? Keep an eye on them? Disregard? Is it even as wild as I think it is? All the way around the base, and on the plug. Even the bit that's stuck into the rock work and when I picked it up there's so many worms that have built on top of each other it feels crumbly and grainy.

I don’t think I’ve seen them this dense.

It’s like a good sign in a tank when it’s not infestation levels. I get them in my filter chambers and under frag racks.
I assume maybe a newer tank and it should dye down over time as your tank gets stable.

You got lots of filter feeders! Did you do something different like feed tons more than usual

I have an auto feeder dosing the smallest dose of the smallest NLS pellets mixed 50/50 with omega veggies pellets twice a day and I feed 2 blocks of frozen food at night. About twice I week I feed my corals and dose some ab+ while I do it. Usually half a tsp of benereef and a mysis pellets is what I feed the corals. The ab+ is the only new thing in the last month

I've noticed some of them are getting quite large! Started out the size of a pencil eraser, now some the heads the size of my thumbnail!

Those are cool!! I mostly just see the brown ones But you got like cool white and red striped ones

I got the ab+ as a curiosity thing. Idk if I'll continue or not. I'm really on the fence. I really like as much diversity in my feeding as I can get. I have every freezer pack I could get in my freezer right now :winking-face-with-tongue:

Mine don't have definite red stripes yes, but I do see lines that look very similar that I hope darken up like @BristleWormHater's! That said, tomorrow when my lights turn on I'll try and get some better pictures. The big ones almost have like.. idk this frosty look to them? Like you'd think it was covered in white powder almost but you look close and that's just the feather/filter thingy.

I got the powder stuff and will order more when this runs out. As well as the LPS pellets. The only issue with the pellets is i have to find a good way to feed them. I hate sticking my hands in the tank any more than I have to. With the powder and the mysis I can use a 30" pipette but the pellets is have worked that out quite yet

They should darken, mine looked like this when I got them as liverock hitchhikers
