Theoretical Reef Keeper
Hello. :)
Before I jump into questions in the forums, I wanted to take a few minutes and introduce myself to my fellow members.
I've been keeping a saltwater tank since 2010. Over the years, my tank has evolved from a FOWLR tank to a full blown reef which includes a green BTA which split back in October (I guess I can say that I have two), a host of soft coral and other inhabitants.
While the actual display is only 15 gallons, when you include the sump I have supporting the tank, total water volume is about 25 gallons. I enjoy this size tank because it keeps the math and maintenance simple: a 5 gallon Home Depot bucket of freshly prepared salt water equals a nice, 20% water change which I do every 10 days.
My primary reason for joining R2R is that I wanted an active site related to the hobby. I have participated on other sites where it takes several days to get one view of a posted question. This isn't necessarily a problem except when you have a time-sensitive issue.
While hardly an expert, I enjoy reading the posts of others and offer whatever suggestions I can based on my limited experience.
My goal in participating here is to get my tank to the next level; from surviving to THRIVING.
