My Latz...

Hawaiian Bred, Full Barred, Latezonatus Clownfish.

Figured I'd share some pics. These two are amazing. When I first put them in the tank, they were eating mysis instantly. I literally fed 15 minutes after introduction and they were head first with the other inhabitants getting food.

Another great thing is that for the almost 3 months they have been in my tank, the temperature has only dropped below 8 degrees once or twice. These Latz are living in 80-84 degree water temps!

Great fish! No worries about getting a wild caught fish to acclimate to captivity and eat and no worries about keeping my tank in the low 70s as suggested with wild caught Latz.

Thanks guys. Here are more recent pics. Just took these. Kinda washed out... had to use the flash.

The above pics were from a month ago. I wouldn't call them paired, but one has established dominance. These clowns are still very young.

awesome. i got a pair of CB as well, but mine are misbarred. mine dont like mysis very much only pellets.

Mine love the pellets too. I switch it up. Pellets, PE Mysis, and then a mix of clams, muscles, salmon eggs, salmon, oysters, and nori.

They will eat anything I put in the tank. They even try to eat linkia legs as they fall for my harliquin shrimp.

how did you get them to eat mysis and not just pellets? having a hard time to get them to eat. i have them in a 12g nano now and the firefish i got in there loves the mysis and if he goes after some, the latz try it.sometimes they eat it and mostly they spit it out. are yours bold? mine are bold, but a little skittish also. they love coming to the glass to see you, but when i open the lid they run for their bubble tips. hehe

I'm pretty sure the breeder feeds them mysis. I did not do anything special, it just happens to be in my feeding rotation. They ate instantly, as mentioned above... 20 minutes after being in the tank they took food.

I guess you could say they are pretty bold. I don't have any aggressive fish, just a lot of fish. They are housed with 3 female flame wrasse, 1 male flame wrasse, 1 male rhomboid, 2 helfrichis, 2 green chromis, pair of pencil wrasse, a potter's wrasse, a zebra blenny, and convict tang.

Eric you and Aloha have them from different breeders. The misbar were not fed mysis and this misbarring cause is not so certain for the breeder. What ever the Karen did it worked.

Yours are from Mainland and ALohas are from Karen.

Karens are ****** and just scooped up a pair. In their juvenile state they show trade mark yellow markings on their backs.

One thing being debated Aloha is if the higher temps will accelarate the life cycle. These fish are found in cooler waters which may slow down their metabolism and enable them to live longer. I am keeping mine at 75 -76 range with a bubbletip and they are showing amazing coloring.

I love the fact that they are cooler water clowns.

Karen did such a good job i couldnt pass up the chance to own a fish i love and have it be captive bred.
