Nice looking Chalice's Dave, the bug has bit me as well recently.

There is no hope now!! LOL! I really am thinking of selling off my SPS and just do a chalice dominated tank.....

Haha! Yeah I have had the chalice bug for about a year now! It all started with the Miami hurricane. Now I have 30+ different ones! I would say it has me hooked! LOL! Are you talking about the mummy eye looking chalice? If so that's a sleeper I got from my local store. They lost the rest of the frags so I think I have one of the only frags left. There may be one more out there but not 100%.

Thanks! The chalice in my third post is my FT look a like. you should see it under actinic lighting. I cant get a picture to come out right with just the blues on!!!! As far as the tank goes I don't dose a lot. Just BRS 2 part 70 ml/day, BRS Mg (chloride and sulfate) and I drip Brightwells Kalk +2. My lighting is a mix and match retro. LOL! It is 3x250 Halides. The middle one is a DE 14k phoenix on a PFO ballast and the L and R sides are 20k radiums on ARO ballasts. I also run 4x54 w T5 HO supplemental/actinic lighting which is 2 ATI blue + and 2 UVL super Actinic. For circulation I have a Mag 9.5 return and 2 MP40's and 2 MP10's in the tank. I run a carbon reactor with 3 cups of carbon changed out every 2 weeks and an ASM-G3 or 4 (I don't remember which) Skimmer and have a fuge with cheato on a reverse light cycle for filtration. I think thats about it. If I missed something feel free to ask. LOL!

I figure I'm not using the return for flow only for filtration through the sump. So I don't need a HUGE return pump. Plus I figure it if ain't broke don't fix it is the approach I take to running my tank. LOL. I am planning on getting a new return pump soon but for the safety factor rather than turn over. Mag Drive pumps are known to fail........

I don't see an issue with the 9.5 return. You don't need massive flow through the sump for filtration purposes.

The tank looks great! Love the full tank shot. The White Balance is hard to figure out for sure. Do you have the ability to take pictures in RAW mode on your camera? if so check into editing a RAW photo as you can manually adjust the white balance after the fact.

Thanks cdness! I do shoot in RAW and adjust the WB in PS, but for actinic shots I don't adjust much because usually they come out true to life but the chalice always is too bright and the image is blown out and I don't even know where to start on it so I just shoot it with all the lights on LOL!

My collection is growing quite nicely. I wanted to share a few new pictures.....

These CAR's I got at MTRC frag swap in Jan. started as a single polyp. I think they have grown pretty well!

Cool little favia I got from Mr. Coral's $10 section. The picture doesn't do it justice. It has a nice pastel purple eye.....
