Hey every one this is my Fluval Evo that I have basically stripped down and started using a canister filter on. The tank is right at a year old and is my first reef tank or salt tank of any kind. Most of my progress is documented on Instagram @Dank__Tanks. The canister filter is a 4 tray penn plax with seachem matrix, chemi pure blue, and filter floss (which is replaced once a week. The water change is performed once a week as well while cleaning out the canister. I usually dump all of the canister water and refill with freshly mixed water. I use seachem stability and pristine with each water change (1capful of each) and I daily dose 2ml of reef energy ab plus. I run a ice cap 2k gyro and a ice cap battery backup V3. (These are new additions). For lighting I have a generic second hand black box reef light. Livestock includes 2 clowns, 1 six line, 1 goby, and your typical cleanup crew. Hermits, turbo snail, and smaller snails. The coral in this tank are pretty basic sense this is my learning curve tank, but they are all in great health and growing. They are even improving in color. I feed the coral frozen “coral food” and reef roids probably 2 times a week and 1 frozen cube of mysis shrimp a week.

Yeah I've been running my Nano AIO tanks skimmer-less until recently and I must say it is quit an upgrade!
I thought about doing a HOB skimmer but didn’t want to pull from the aesthetic. I truly wanted this tank to have glass Lily pipes (it use to) and use an inline heater (mine is hidden but you can still see wire) and just have wave maker, ato line & sensors visible. Coming from FW aquascaping I love the rimless clean look. I’ll get there when I upgrade sizes. I already have plans haha just need to finish up schooling right now

That's great man, I have similar setup on my planted tank. I too like the minimalist look and that's why I chose the IM AIO, its as good as it can get for hiding all the stuff our reef tanks require while staying small foot print.

Exactly! And everyone said if you can keep a nano healthy a larger tank will be a breeze so I took the challenge head on haha I did have an old college roommate that is killing the reef life so I had some advice from him. Mainly just be patient which holy crap was hard to do after coming from co2 injected high light planted tanks lol trimming buckets full of plants a week or two weeks to waiting 2 weeks for 1 zoa polyp lol
