hello mate.
i see the convict is not a prisoner yet.
I would love to see himi will try get a picture of mine tomorrow
Same day I got my copperband. I think August 17th.I didn’t realize you had a Trachy! When did you get that?
Second set of strainers is the second best thing I ever did for all of my tanks. FIrst was when I had overflow covers made, so I did not have to clean as often lol. Still have to clean, as now sponges grow all over them, but no more algae lol.Good Morning all,
Ah sip of my coffee,, finally got the 1 1/2 bulk head strainers for the tank. (6 of them)
I am going to use 3 of them, one for each 1 1/2 drain pipe.
Got a second set so I can clean and rotate 3 as needed....
Today is going to be let the RODI sytem add more Rodi water in and let it overflow into the sumps, then turn the water return system on and tweak it.
Turn the system off and let it drain to check the sumps can handle the additional water.
I am also going to test and see if one of the two pumps fail, can one pump handle circulation of the two sumps and refug until the failed one is fixed....
Have to make sure no water leaks happen in the house.....due to failures...
Once it is running good add salt.
Also have to go to a friends house and trade some coral frags
Do you run strainers on all of your outflow piping?Second set of strainers is the second best thing I ever did for all of my tanks. FIrst was when I had overflow covers made, so I did not have to clean as often lol. Still have to clean, as now sponges grow all over them, but no more algae lol.
I don't think so. Look under the green tips. There's more yellow today.Splitting?
All but the emergencies. I have small blennies in all my tanks and they sometime like to go overflow surfing lol. I turnover a ton of water, so if they go down a pipe, it is usually not good for them. Much easier to turn off pump, lift drain pipe up with gate valve all the way open and catch in a net. If they just went down, they would be beat up and then land in a group of non-photsynthetic nems in the sumps lol.Do you run strainers on all of your outflow piping?
I am on my Mac now, so can see what you mean, the second pic on phone just kinda looked like 2 nems the way the pic was taken and a small screen lol.I don't think so. Look under the green tips. There's more yellow today.
Edit: Let me splice a side by side pic.
