It looks like a type of algae I see on a lot of maricultured stuff. The monti and sps seem to grow a tube around it, not a tube from it.

I wish I could remember the name of it.

Wish I could keep a pod population alive in the big tank. The 4 is crawling with them - looks like an infestation. I would love to get a Mandarin to put in there and then move into the big tank as it grew.... But the wrasse just decimate them
