My new project 65 JBJ, recommendations? I want to keep a few sps, and work down form there.. I want an anemone, 2 clowns, leopard wrasse, open to the rest. Currently looking at skimmer and controller for monitoring options. I think I’m going to keep it clean and not do a sump.

Thoughts from everyone?

Sounds like a solid plan. Share your journey in your build/tank thread😉

Do you have an idea of what equipment (specifics if you can) you want for the tank?

I personally would start with some hardy coral before doing SPS. Start with mushrooms, toadstools, duncans or zoas, to name a few. They are all on the cheaper end and can survive just about anything.

Anemone is a good addition too! I would also wait a few weeks/months before getting one. Your tank is going to go through some maturing and putting an anemone in too soon can lead to it being stressed out.

Completely agree not to be a no it all but I have had reef tanks since 2006, just new to the forum here, I sold my last 180 three years ago and now im back, Ill wait a few weeks before adding coral. Just looking for thoughts on the 65, what I can and cant keep etc.

Oh, no worries then!
Royal grammas, blennies, flasher wrasse, fairy wrasses (smaller ones). There's a good amount of variety you can get in a 65g!
I'm going to also tag @i cant think he can tell you more on specifics for wrasses
