Just need to attach the return line still. Just didn’t want to cut it prematurely.

I have an issue. The MD40s dry side don’t fit between the wall and tank. Arrgh. I need to cut a hole and recess it
in. Didn’t think of that before. This will be interesting.

You are doing an outstanding job! I have a Waterbox peninsula 5526. Awesome tank. Also have a chiller like you. I attached some pics. Starting to add corals now that the lights are on (just completed the 4-month BRS cycle - no lights, only fish).

Thank you. It takes especially longer when you’re not extremely handy man type.

I like the blue lights, tank looks nice. what are you using. Look crisp to me and they are super thin. Wait, 3 months cycle? What does that do vs something less?

Waterbox tanks have better plumbing and are wider, congrats on the tank! If I didn't find a deal on a red sea reefer peninsula 500, I would have pulled the trigger on the 6026.

I didn’t know WB existed before buying the RS. I would’ve been happy either way but I do like the WB cabinet opening both sides. The WB was more money and larger than what I wanted but I am stoked with it!

wow, this update is way overdue. Sorry guys, real busy with wife surgeries and work. And I need to change the title on this thread.

going back a few months, got it all up and running. Everything is the same In the sump, but I did try to run a CO2 scrubber for a month, then I took it offline. I couldn’t keep up with alk and ca demands, it shot from 55ml per day to 654ml per day. Crazy growth but I started having precipitation in the return area of the sump and I my montis started paling out. So I pulled it off. Things returned to normal quickly. Here’s how I had it setup. My ph went from 78-7.9 to 8.4. The air silencer sitting on top did some recirc and Had enough condensation. I had part of one line running in the water To keep it wet enough. As a side result, growth is still pretty good, I’m down to 190ml of both a day and my ph is now constantly 8 to 8.1 which I can live with. Like it jumped started growth.

My fish list now is a Tomini Tang, Purple, Gem, Scribbled Rabbit, Mystery Wrasse, and Red Flame. I had a Achilles but he got ich real bad and didn’t make it. I don’t or won’t have a QT tank and am not fallowing the entire DT tank. So he passed and yellow tang along with leapard wrasse and goby and 2 clowns. it was tough and rough, all happened within day or two. The gem and purple made it through. The tomini and rabbit are new. Here’s a couple shots, the purple and gem are hard to get good pics off.

Yeah sucked I hate to see fish die.

Yup! Here’s some FTS from two weeks ago. Santa got me some more sticks so I’ll get a new full FTS later. Left, right and middle.

I also have a UV i will setup and post pics of.

I will be adding a UV sterilizer today hopefully. I’ll post some pics of it. I setup my dosing unit too while back. Pics below. I need to get the additional 3 pumps to start dosing sps food.

Turns out I didn’t need the chiller at all last summer. Debating on taking it out.

Such a great looking tank and setup. I'm still reading through it, but I love the thread so far. I am particularly jealous of your salt and fresh water reservoir setup. Do you have the reservoirs plumbed to the tank for doing automated water changes, or plans to?

I also noticed some pony kegs in the shot... are you a home brewer by chance as well? ;Pompus

Thanks a bunch. I wish I had them plumbed but the garage is like 50’ away basically and it’s a process to do water changes but I’ve got a sturdy dolly that I use with 25 gallon blue barrels to cart the new and old water around. Next house if there is one I’ll do it plumbed but it’s impossible now to retrofit. Problem is during summer the water change water is hot and winter it is cold. So I have to cool or heat it up first. I stopped storing new salt water because of the heat it started growing black dust algae or something in the container. I’d have to put in a heater and air conditioner in the garage which ain’t going to happen so now it’s all just fresh RODI.

Yep I do home brew. But I haven’t brewed in a long while. Brew station is collecting dust. I have hops getting old.

I’ll post some more pics, as I just got my phyto dosing setup.
