My RBTA Has Been Wondering

It has been in my tank for about a month. The last two weeks it has been wandering so every morning we got to play "where in the world is waldo". It's in a 80g tank with a lot of rocks. I do have another rainbow BTA which stay in the same rock no matter where I put the rock.

Is there a reason for this and how to I stop it from moving?

They'll move to where they want. They'll choose light, flow, sediment/rock, and probably temperature locations as well. Read, read, and read some more! :)

When it stops moving for awhile, try to take note of what makes that part of the tank different than the part it moved away from (different flow, different light coverage). That could give you some clues about what he's looking for or trying to get away from.

Did the nem seem bleached at all when you got him? Nems from LFS usually need an un-bleaching regimen and/or light acclimation to settle in nicely, as least IME. Until then, they are likely to be especially light-sensitive.

I know they would move around but this one seems especially undecisive. Maybe it doesn't like any of the spots.

I got this one from another hobbyist. It seems to be generally happy.
