So here is a short video of QTed Fish and some tester corals in the tank. Have some small algae issues but it’s finaly getting under control

Also installed a new Klir Filter and have to say am pretty happy with it.

Don’t mind the red solo cups as I am still looking for someone who can cut some red acrylic circles to plug the holes, so if you know anyone who can/would please reach out to me via PM

My buddy Zaffor did a great video on the Klir. Give him a like if you enjoy his video

We both seem to get about 3-4 weeks out of each fleece but we’re hopping to go longer when they release thier 100 micron fleece.

So a little update on the tank. I switched out the Klir Filter for a bit gonna try some media cups with poly filter and I have to say I like it. It’s a every 4-5 day change but it takes 30 seconds for all three vs 10-15 min every 3 weeks for the Klir. Plus the Klir was acting up a bit and I wanna run the floss for a bit as it seems to pull out a ton of gunk vs the Klir.

Pro tip- a little goes a long way! Only use about 1.5”-2” of floss as once the top part gets clogged up the bottom is useless and goes to waist.

I also saw someone on Instagram using RainX for their glass to help with salt streaks one the outside of the glass so I decided to give it a shot. Steps: Clean the glass very well with some vinigar and RO/DI then spray the RainX on a microfiber and apply to the clean glass. Do 2 coats 5 min in-between coats then wipe with a clean microfiber.

So Far I’m impressed with the results and the cleaner magnet now slides super smoothly and easily.

So also dialed in the Dos and Alk is pinned at 8.1 and Calcium is at 450. My buddy @Zaffor gave me 5 Acro frags and they are doing well so I’m happy. My only issues currently is still some puffy algae on the sand bed that won’t go away. Phosphates are zero and I’ve been on top of changing out Carbon/GFO so if anyone has any ideas lmk.

Lastly 2 exciting announcements
1- I ordered some radion gen 4 pros and the aquatic life T5 fixture for Christmas. After seeing TSA, WWC and Living Reef during my last trip to Orlando all running this setup , having amazing growth and color, I decided to make the change.

2- My wife and I are expecting our first child!!! Due Fathersday June 16th! Hope He/She likes the tank lol. And with that I wish everyone a happy New Years and a Great 2019!! Happy Reefing

Here's a few pictures of the stand. The right door is the electronics compartment. The main doors are nice and large without a center brace which is awesome!!! I can also use the access door on the left. Going to wire the led lights to my breakout box so they automatically come on when any doors are opened.

How deep was the area that you had made for the apex equipment? Would you do anything different if you could do it over again?

The cabinet ID is 6” and it works well for apex eb832 and stuff that gets plugged in. Everything clears with space to spare in most cases but not Overly large where you loose to much space in sump area.

As per if I would change anything. There’s only one thing that comes to mind and it was the Pre cutout area in the back wall of the stand. I would have left it sold since I never even used that space for plumbing and now its lost space to mount things. I’m thinking of making some sort of sign to cover the gap.

You've put together a beautiful system. I'd love to see a plumbing map of your mixing station. I'd really like to build a similar mixing station

Hey guys sorry for being MIA life is been a little crazy with our first child! Crazy but awesome! Here’s some photos. Just upgraded to Radion G5 Blues. Still don’t have an opinion on them yet but so far so good. Significant more spread which is very uniform/T5 Like. My only gripe is that “daytime” all colors is a tad windex-y not that crisp blue daylight that the G4’s pulled. All blues is the same when you dial back blue to 50%. With all blue channels at 100% it’s a bit to light blue (I ran both next to eachother to Match them) Also changed 2 of the 4 T5 bulbs as it’s been almost 2 years. I’ll change the last two in a couple weeks after corals acclimate to new lights and bulbs.

also corals starting to take off. Realized nutrients were way to low. Started feeding heavily (auto feeder 4X a day) and LRS reef frenzy every day. Targeting nitrates around 10-20 and having my new reef bot really has helped dial it in! E52AB0D2-BD0F-419E-8D9F-1AD80F566885.jpeg
