Hi all.. just a quick nem update. He’s doing well still. Little wandering about 6 inches but he’s stayed put for a few weeks now.

Hi, thought I’d check in.... been in a few months now, still doing well... some additional insight.....
I’ve noticed a couple of things in this journey:
1. My anemone fully deflated when I did a big water change, my water quality (nitrates began to climb to 5ppm as I went away for a couple of week). He fully inflated the next day. This is the only time he has deflated since the first couple of weeks of adding him. I’m tempted to test this again from a scientific curiosity that will help new keepers.
2. He got slightly mangled from going too close to the gyre (they’re covered but still got a bit sucked in) - note that the gyre sleeves add somewhat protection. Left minor damage to a small section of the tentacles but healed within a couple of days.
3. after a month of moving about a bit. He has settled for a long period.
4. Here’s a pic from this morning

And a picture as the thread gets boring otherwise. Biggest width so far today reaching my newly placed flags either side now - was a bit premature with their placing evidently!

I also fed today for the first time, a small uncooked prawn. Great feeding response, tentacles grabbed it pulled it in and placed it in its mouth, including fighting off the clowns who are forever hungry.

Oh and a picture of tentacle and oral disk, I find it amazing how the tentacles are in a perfect line from the central oral disk and that you can you see the sections almost in stripes

Thanks so much for such a great thread. I'm thinking of trying to keep a ritteri and this was the most useful thing I've read-- the photos were a great help as well. I'm still on the fence (the deflation drama!) but you can't beat the results. Healthy, they are the best nem hands down.

Thank you soooo much. It was a long, long road back to health. Im happy i made it lol.
Beautiful-- please keep us posted. I'm thinking about a system dedicated to a ritteri and clowns (maybe some zoas and a couple of other fish). My tank is a 40 gallon with as sump so I'm wondering whether that will work. This thread has been great!

I’ve found it an emotional rollercoaster but I must say, I’m so happy with it and once I got in my head just leave him alone, he was ok. He’s going a really nice pink colour now.

Excellent thread; thank you all!

@Nemguy123 when are you gonna do your bacteria writeup? :) :)
Does @Nemguy123 started to culture sick anemone to isolate the pathogen?
I started to do it but my bank account was not big enough for such free work. If the health of my my family depends on it then yes but not for the hobby.

This is my Black Friday Magnifica after 1 week of treatment and 24 hr+ without antibiotic. I will get him to DT later today.
