So I know this is from awhile ago but I would try & get phosphates down. The ratio in this picture is very similar to the ratio I had with Phosphates & Nitrates which led to Dinos for me. If possible I would try and retest to make sure Nitrates did not hit 0 but usually you want Phosphates to be a lot lower than Nitrates.

Also these very could also be Dinos from before. The goal is to stop it before it gets on the corals as unfortunately they can be very deadly.

The good news is I just went through the same thing on my tank which was similarly freshly cycled and with quick action I knocked them out very quickly!

shoot. ok thanks thomas! looks like i have some work to do 😖

No worries, outside of massive water changes which can be difficult a lot of people run GFO or rowaphos to lower phosphates. Others will use Phosphate E or Lanthian chloride but be careful not to drop it too quickly as it can shock & harm corals and make sure to dose it into a 5 micron filter sock as you do not want it to get into your fishes gills. (Phosphate E is a quick fix for Phosphates but can be dangerous if done too quickly).

I would cut down on feeding pellet/dry foods if you use them and try and shift to more frozen as they are naturally higher in Nitrates and dry foods contain more phosphates. Also I would cut down on feeding in general (after doing a water test to verify your Nitrates & Phosphates are not zero). Randy has a guide on dosing Silicates as many will dose Silicates to cause a Diatom bloom which will outcompete Dinos and are relatively harmless and automatically go away after the silicates run out. The good news is the tank is new so hopefully its more of a cycling woe than a permanent problem.

here you go guys. i know the phos are too high. thoughts? ill work at getting the reactor going. i had shut off the algae scrubber so my nitrates didnt bottom out. but i can hook it up. maybe turn on the uv ?

@Fish Styx ? any words of wisdom?
Bring the salinity down a smidge, but otherwise I'd keep your nutes stable, as is. Don't chase numbers here. Unless things are too far out of whack, which they're not, let your system find equilibrium and it'll do it's thang, Boo-boo.

i can try. thought i was gonna die til i got those things snapped on, but i can try!
Does turning off the return bring the water level below the locline? I usually just turn off the flow and give a good scrub with oaper towels or a rag.

hey jojo! yes, it does. ill give that a whirl. didnt want to touch the stuff until i had some input. didnt know if it was like aiptasia! you touch it and it shows up everywhere!

then i wouldnt try if they snapp on hard like i know they do. Just scrub with tooth brush inside a net or filter sock
