Update: I moved into a new house the second week of December so I had to move the tank. It was only a 10 mile move so it wasn’t too bad. Having the AquaRocks was really nice since I was able to easily just remove each plug from the tank and put it in its own small Tupperware and then just put them right back in the same place after I moved the tank. Unfortunately before I moved both the torch and bowerbanki were not doing great and I think I’m going to eventually lose them. I tried moving them into different spots but it doesn’t seem to be working. My court jester goby died which wasn’t surprising since I could never get it to eat pellets. I think I’m just going to stick with the two clowns for now. Overall everything is looking great and the tank has still been relatively easy to maintain.

The tank is still doing great. I’ve added some new corals and also moved a few of them around. As long as nothing dies, I think I am pretty much done adding corals to this tank. It’s time to just let it grow out. I switched out the MP10 for a Nero 3. I am starting a new tank and wanted two MP10s on the new tank, so to save a little money I bought a Nero 3 and took the MP10 off. I can mount the Nero on the back wall which I like. The corals seemed to adjust fine to the change of flow direction. I also started dosing Tropic Marin All for Reef. My alk was dropping 1.5 dkh a week so dosing 1.5ml a day seems to keep it at a steady 8. Other than that I’ve done a good job keeping up on water changes, still doing 2.5g a week, which I think has been the key to success so far.

The tank turned one year old this past week and is still going strong.

An update just shy of the 18 month mark. I had a little bit of an algae outbreak, so I stopped feeding the corals and the algae went away. The tank is almost completely algae free right now thanks to my CUC. I also stopped dosing the All for Reef, which hasn’t really seemed to matter as the corals are still looking great and seem to be growing. I’ve moved a few corals around and lost a couple too but overall everything has been smooth sailing. I’ve extended the time between water changes and will change 2.2 gallons every 10 to 12 days now.

is the custom aqua scape as porous as real rocks or they're more like plastic?
