Mystery clam on torch

I recently purchased a torch coral from my LFS and it has two cmystry type clams on the side of it that I'm having difficulty in identifying..

It's got a hippopus look but that would be rare for sure!

I was thinking the same thing. Id be mad since i paid 100 for mine, and they just got them for free. Haha

Look up zig zag clam and zig zag mussle.

Not the scientific names but you'll find several kinds.

It kinda resembles a hippopus, I agree. It doesn' open far enough to really see the inferior the torch seems mostly unaffected by the relationship.. it is usually open in the flow most of the day.. I have watched whatever it is open and close at times so I know there has to be life in there.. its certsinly very odd and beautiful..

Any chance you can get a pic with white lights on or a flash? I am really interested in seeing it better.

And i like how you're excited that the torch seems unaffected. Im all backwards thinking "man, i hope that stupid torch doesnt hurt this clam, he should throw out that torch!" hahaha

I was like the torch not going to bother/sting the **** out of the clam with their sweepers or what? Not the clam gonna disturb the torch lol

Yeah I bought the torch on purpose. Haha.. the clams were not able ad far ad I thought infill I saw them close.. here are a ew better pics

It's just a none photosynthesis bivalve, If its need light to survive then later the torch will shade it to death.

I do love it but I think the torch won't like it in my tank with my current flow setup, I gave a away my 10 heads torch cause of the flow :)

My LFS do 30% off on live stock Black Friday, I'll get more clams. I hope they get some new clam shipment for the sale....
