Hubby found this in my tank...I have not seen the original occupant...ever. Never even knew I had a crab in my tank. I’d be stoked if it’s a porcelain crab as they are my absolute faves...anyone got an ID?

If you still have it, take it out of the water and get a better shot if you can. No reason to keep the shell in water that I am aware of.

Did you start your tank with live rock? If so, it could be about anything. If you purchased any maricultured coral colonies I would suspect it is an acro crab.

If I knew where it was I would. My son has claimed the skin and as an 8 year old does...has lost it. The only thing that hasn’t been dipped was purple stars because it was so fragile. It had a stomatella hiding in it so I think it came with that. There are lots of places to hide in it.

Found him! He’s been hiding out in the rock. Pics aren’t the best. He has curved claws, not flat like a porcelain, fine hairs over him and is a red-brown colour. He has grown a bit. About the size of a 5c piece (Aussie) hubby has a Samsung phone...awesome camera, if he is still there I’ll get better shots when he gets home.
