So I placed an order for some inverts and everything came as requested, but an extra bag was in the shipment and a shrimp I didn’t order. I enjoy all the different inverts, I think they’re mostly fun curious creatures so I don’t mind keeping it. The concern of course is compatibility with everything else in the tank. Hoping someone can help me ID what type of shrimp this and does it get along with other shrimp/coral/fish etc. Ist currently sitting in a specimen container so I apologize if the image is a little blurry.

Current Stock
2 Clowns
1 Yellow Tang
1 Gramma
1 FireFish
2 PJ Cardinals
1 Tailspot Goby
1 Pithos Crab
1 Spotted Porcelain Crab
2 Scarlett Shrimps
2 Tiger Conchs
1 Pencil Urchin
Various snails & hermits

Coral are all in QT right now so not an immediate concern.

Thanks in advance my fellow reefers!

I have to agree that it looks like a Saron shrimp to me - though it is much less "hairy" than the others I've seen. The color and pattern looks pretty much spot on for it though.

I'd also vote saron shrimp, size and pattern is right and I've seen some images of ones with various colorations.

Saron marmoratus aka Marbled Shrimp

I found this on care and feeding:

"Feeding the Saron Shrimp should not be a problem since they should scavenge the tank for any uneaten food and detritus. They will accept any meaty freeze dried or frozen foods and bottom feeder tablets, as well as scavenge for algae in the aquarium."
