Purple Tang is named purple, naso Tang naso convict tang convict etc. I stopped naming fish years ago because it always seemed the ones I named were the first to die so I stopped dooming them lol.
Exactly. I never name my fish, it’s bad luck.

I still name my fish, although when I first add them I give them about 2 weeks before naming them. Unfortunately after naming fish for 30 years I am struggling to always remember their names. Ha ha!

Blondie the blue eyed Kole tang
Hawkeye the longnose hawkfish
Ozzie the Ocellaris clown
Angelica the Coral Beauty angel
Guardian the YWG
Jack Blenny the Midas blenny
Sunset the Bi-color blenny
Tinkerbell the Solon fairy wrasse
Zorro the masked goby

Well what kind of fish is it? I have orangey , blacky and purpley. No I did not name them. Originality came from two year old.
We also named a few of our inverts:
Turbo the Zebra Turbo
Crabby the Emerald Crab
Shrimpy the Peppermint Shrimp
Originality came from a 65 year old.
We don't name our CUC species we have in any abundance. If we can't count 'em, we don't name 'em. That's the rule.
