A Jebao SLW-5 would be great for that tank. Same design as the Nero but you won't be paying top dollar for a pump that'll be running at 2% in such a small tank!

AI Nero 3 or Tunze 6040. Only two nano pumps I've tried so far. Nero 3 on a 10g and the 6040 on a 24g.
The Nero's safety stop is a little more finicky ... even the slightest little 'obstruction' will cause it to stop. But both have worked great for me.

For such a small tank, I would just get a cheap sunsun powerhead. Otherwise need to spend a lot of money for a powerhead with a controller just so you can turn it down to the very minimum power setting.

Do you think a Nero 3 will be sufficient enough for a 20 gallon long or would you suggest going to the Nero 5?
Since it’s a long tank I would get 2 lower rated power heads and place them on opposite sides to get maximum flow and no dead spots but a Nero 3 would be okay for a 20 long

Unless you have an incredible amount of rock packed into it, the 3 should be plenty of flow for a 20g.
I don't plan on packing it with rock. I plan to aquascape it and leave enough space from the glass so I can clean the sand bed if needed. I believe I will go with the Nero 3. I only asked about the Nero 5 because WWC's 20 gallon tank runs a Nero 5.
