I've often had night mares about loosing power while I was away or sleeping and only discover it when I walk in to a tank with floating fish and dead corals. I didn't like the idea of a large UPS because it's a nano tank and space is limited. I have battery powered air pumps but I never knew if the batteries were fresh and only worked if I was home when the power was lost. After racking my brain I came up with a battery powered air pump that charges when I have electricity and turns on when I loose power. This thread will be on how to build one. The total cost for me was about $50. I have one on each nano tank.
