Hi have a naso in QT. Has what looks like white blotches on him, it's not ich. He's been in QT for about 12 days. At first I thought it was just damage from another fish but It's multiplying . He eats great. He's been through TTM and Parazi . What's going on ? Sorry for so much blue . The white looks like flour almost. I haven't seen anything like it before ?

I'm no fish master doc king but my Naso would always do this when he was stressed. New tank mates, moving rock around... anything that changed up his world order.

^^Agree; Nasos are infamous for getting stress spots. However, I'd like to see a photo of the fish in not blue light to be sure.

I agree with the others. Stress spots are common with these guys. A white light picture would be needed to confirm.

He shows spots when scared. But he also has other marks on both sides that are always there. I will get a white shot later when I get back .

Are the white spots "flat" against the skin or raised up "bumpy"?

If flat, might be a bacterial infection. Or because it's a tang, it can just be stress.

If it gets worse I would use Kanaplex/Metro for 10 days according to instructions on package. Don't use with Prime.

If those 2 together don't work, add Furan 2.

Or you can read Humblefish's stickie on Antibiotics for bacterial infections. He'll be back in about 10 days.

The reason the blue is so prevelant is because your camera "sees" more blue than your eye does and captures that. You can adjust the white balance on your camera to make up for it, but don't ask me how. lol I just don't know.

On to something I do know about. In the first pictures, the biggest splotches are absolutely stress spots. This second picture could still be that but I'm not 100% sure. I wouldn't suggest treating with antibiotics unless we are relatively sure it's an infection. Reason being, they can build up a tolerance to them and we want them to work if we need them later. For now, I'd suggest vitamins like Vitachem or Selcon in the food, Lots of nori, very clean water and lots of hiding places. Let's see if we can keep the stress to a minimum and boost his immune system at the same time.

I'd like to know if you did two rounds of prazi and how far apart they were, as well.

Doing great almost cleared up happy to report ! My wife thought it was fungal and estimated 10 days on antibiotics. I think she is 1/1 . Good to know what a bacterial infection looks like now . Happy !
