Can Nassarius Snails be placed in a Tropic Eden Reef Flake and Carib Sea Natural Reef mix sand bed or are the grains too large, 3-5.5mm grain size mixed between the two. I've got some in my other tank that has Carib Sea Fiji Pink which is 0.5-1.5mm grain size. I just don't know if it will cause them issues or not, this is the first time I'm using such a large grain.

Tank is a 40 gallon breeder with a good bit of exposed sand area. It will be an SPS only tank. Is there any other cuc that can go in there? I'm sure Cucumbers and Sand Sifting Gobies are out. Obviously Turbos and Trochus are ok but I'm talking about to help keep the sand bed clean. Fighting Conch, Red/Blue Leg Hermits and? I've got 2 Mexican Turbos from my other tank that I just put in tonight and they are happily mowing down some of the uglies.

I do not see why they would not work. Just get one or two and try them out before purchasing more.

You could try a Tiger Tail, looks like it would be pretty easy to keep track of in that tank.

How did the Nassarius Snails work out in the Tropic Eden Reef Flakes?

I have 2 that I’ve had for 5 years that I will soon be switching from Figi Pink sand to Reef Flakes.

The do just fine but I also had decided to lay Fiji Pink Live as a 1” layer and then put the Reef Flake on top, another inch or so. Now it’s just a big mix and they have no issues with the mix.
