Ok. will try my hand at this (again)

I have the idea in my mind for a 3-fish tank...... well, I bought a second fish awhile back so I need that last guy for the tank! Larry and Curly are looking for their Moe!

I won’t sway you towards what I am thinking and give you any “No XYZ Fish” restrictions and just let you throw any good recommendations my way:

Details:

Mixed Reef Tank
8’ long, but only 150g or so
Bare bottom
Lots of rock
NO TOP

Current residents (will not remove)

8” long Quoyi Parrot “Leonard”
3/4” (?) Cubicus Boxfish “Boxy Brown” (he is so cool)

They are both very calm/gentle/passive fish

What would you guys throw in there?!?!?

I always feel its tougher choosing or suggesting fish for a tank that will only have a few fish in it because unlike other tanks that you can throw really any fish in and you have a bit of everything, whereas with a tank like this you have to be more selective.

if you have no inverts A harlequin tuskfish would be cool or a blue throat trigger. Again I don't know what you have in your tank but I love my Regal angel and would buy another in a heart beat.

Yeah. I have inverts, and actually plan to add 3-4 Fire-shrimp and a couple of skunk cleaners

At a local shop. Queen Angel, no Royal

Bumping this up. I decided the Queen wasn’t a good fit for me. Looking for a large peaceful fish.

Bonus for unique shape.

I would say a rabbitfish, they’re mostly reef safe and peaceful, not likely to jump, they’re utilitarian and beautiful. They’re grow to a nice size. ORA has a limited number of captive bred 2 bar rabbitfish. Foxface are beautiful.

I actually like the squirrel fish a bit better, but still not sold on them.

I may have to go with an angel, just scared it may be aggressive

Thought about a purple, but worried about tangs being too aggressive. My box fish is < 1”
I doubt Tangs would be aggressive without another Tang(s) around unless it was a Sohal Tang. Even a Purple Tang is more aggressive/meaner than Achilles from my experience.

Well, the purple, gem, naso are the ones I like..... What is the safest bet amongst those? Although I was thinking “less common” fish

I prefer the blonde naso but your tank is probably not wide enough for it long term. So the Gem would be it... too pricey for me lol

Pyramid butterfly fish. Nice shape and the 8’ length will give it lots of room to swim. Nice active fish with no aggressiveness and reef safe.
