Help I’m in a situation I’ve never had to deal with. I found a seahorse on the deck of boat and her gas bubble is so bad she’s swimming upsides down tail up

May be bladder issue. Myacin works for that but may not be safe with seahorse. Try removing from water momentarily and see if it expels the air while massaging its pouch with wet finger.
Swimming upside down indicates that your seahorse is having a problem with positive buoyancy, which is almost always due to gas building up within the pouch in male seahorses but can also be due to an overinflated swim bladder in some rare cases. Releasing the gas that is trapped within his pouch will resolve the problem and return them to normal, and that will be the end of it providing the problem does not return (many times gas continues to build up within the pouch and the pouch must be flushed out in order to set things right again but can be released by massaging as mentioned

You can try to hold the seahorse upright under water and let him hitch into your finger. Holding the seahorse in one hand, gently massage with your thumb and index finger in a circular motion from bottom to top (go towards his pouch opening). You can also try to use like a blunt object (like a Bobby pin) and try to tease open the pouch to help expel the air trapped and continue the massage.

I’ve never had to do this before and I’m a little scared because I have huge hands with barley any feeling in them plus don’t know my own strength but I’m gonna go for it Thank you to all that gave advice I’ll post results. Wish me luck. If anything happens I’ll cry

She seems to be chilling and she’s upright and hanging with others I’m gonna let her be and keep close eye on her to see if I have to do process of massage

Following to see how you make out
Well I did it and my nerves are on edge was so nervous I’d never forgive myself if I hurt her. I don’t know if I got all gas out but keeping eye on her she seems ok and is swimming little better than before but not completely normal yet. Keep u all updated She is actually looking for food so that’s good sign

Awesome brother. Great job.

Lol! This is the first time I’ve ever heard of “massaging” something in our tanks! Glad it worked though!
I know it sounds crazy! I had to do the same thing before and it’s so weird having to do it but thankfully it does work if there isn’t a chronic condition at hand

Hero and hero helpers right here.
Happy to report seahorse from yesterday is doing great now swimming around and looking for food with the rest of them. So happy. Was thinking about a post in the lounge forum. What is nice. And the topic was basically about newbies asking same questions that have been asked before that it’s annoying to some folks. A lot of people responded in defense of such saying this site is for information and helping others in this hobby. Well that was just the case yesterday when i needed help and advice on a serious situation and R2R folks came thru right away and gave me some excellent advice and seemed truly concerned about my seahorse.Thier advice worked great and now my buddy is doing great. THANK YOU ALL who helped. Guess that’s the true meaning of this website ❤️
