By now most of u know Igor a used 55gal set up. As I’ve already posted few days ago I have been soaking everything in fresh water and vinegar. Well tonight I’m gonna start scrubbing everything inside and out every little piece then rinse and let dry

So 3hrs and got all motors, fans, pumps, and plumbing pvc pipes all scrubbed inside and out. It took that long because I’m so anal with OCD so every little thing had to be spotless I still have to scrub the main tank and the refugium tomorrow night after fishing. The little wire scrub brushes are the best thing I bought to help clean all tight spots. Will post as I get further into my project

Looking good brother.
Well things in life happen but seems it always happens to me. The pvc pipes coming from bottom of Overflow box one broke. It’s supposed to be a screw nut that allows you to change it was Glued and when I tried to twist it apart it broke. Then to add insult to injury when I was cleaning glass inside my refugium I broke a divider. Uggh
So I decided to step back and take deep breath and learn to slow my roll. Gonna take couple days off from project and get my self together. And my big gorilla hands are a curse

Ok so you need a new piece of glass, simple enough cut and clean out the old one and all the silicone. Clean with alcohol rub before installing the new piece. And the overflow, well that's broke... if you want instead of buying an over the top bring your tank here and well drill it for a real overflow box.

I cam drill it for a 3/4 return in the back and a 1.5in drain to accept the eshopps eclipse overflow box. Itll be a really nice clean look for your horses.

So I cleaned main tank real good and I’m having holes drilled in it for my overflow box also in middle of fixing refugium. Taking my time and slowing my roll. Haste makes waste

Nice work on the project! I know the hiccups in the process are disheartening but way to go on the overall progress. The broken pipe on the overflow box may actually be a blessing in disguise. I prefer drilled tanks rather that external overflow boxes. One less possibility for flood with a drilled tank.

Got another piece of the puzzle done. My boss sanded then stained and applied 10 coats of varnish What a nice guy. Notice the seahorse handles. It’s coming together slowly but surely

Looks awesome.
So today’s piece of the puzzle is the refugium. As said before I broke some baffle glass, ok no big problem, but when I sprayed paint stripper on tank to remove and clean paint on side and back the stripper messed up silicone so I’m buying a new one today at petco. Better safe than sorry
