Need an opinion on stocking list for 22.4gal cube

So, currently, im going to have a pair of ocellaris clowns, a firefish. hopefully a hawkfish(either flame of long nose, whatever u guys say tbh), maybe a goby and a cleaner blenny, and maybe another bottom fish.

what you guys think?
give me fish, and give me ur thoughts :D

That's already a lot of fish in a small tank, imho. The clown pair could claim the whole thing as their own and not tolerate any other fish in there.

Why not a single clown? Then you could maybe do the rest, although, I still think that would be too many. (I personally would loose the clowns)

I already have 2 clowns in my ten, the most I did at once in that 10 was a pair of clowns, a firefish and another small goby...
that was perfectly fine. the clowns already claimed a Duncan colony and their own and everything from the10 is going into the 20

your tank stocking is fine just go slow and maybe add clowns last. percs, occelaris and skunks will be ur best bet

the clowns r probably going to un-host the Duncan since its a new tank, but ill get a box thingy :D

sorry read it wrong before. this will most likely be the most fish you could add. sort of assumed after the maybe was fish that you may be able to add in time and will depend on filtration. probably a neon goby or other very small type

you do have to watchout with longnose as they are more prone to eating fish

any specific ideas u would add to a 20gal?(not counting in the fish I already said, restart the stocking basically how u would like :D)

I would try to keep it to 4 fish IMO. The 2 clowns plus one or maybe two more peaceful fish would be good, the firefish and blenny sound like a good idea. But I wouldn't add more than that myself. Keep in mind the firefish and blenny will appreciate a good amount of tight rockwork. Good luck

im actually starting a 25 gallon jbj rimless right now. for now it is going to be the fish im keeping during the downsize which is a pair of clowns, a pair of springeri damsels, and a neon goby. They already get along well.
The rest of my tank is focused on corals so i dislike shrimp like cleaners as they steal food.

i would personally do a pair of clown watchman goby and a pistol shrimp i think a hawk needs at least a 40 gallon from my experience

long story short
lfs(probably never going to them again) gave me the wrong shrimp and info, internet lied to me, here told me the internet lied to me to set it all straight(google lied, not r2r) the shrimp proceeded to eat I think a couple fish, it was either 1 or 2, ate a starfish, ate new hermit crab, ate a couple snails. it was a disaster. not doing pistol shrimp until I get bigger tank

I had this exact tank. Didn’t have clowns planned as it was originally a corals first sps plan. I did get a Yasha goby, and a Hectors goby who got along fine. Big thing to remember is small fish, at most about 4 in total. I have 25 gallon that I’ve got coming and I might have 4-5 small fish at most. So you want clowns, ok then how about one of the goby’s I mentioned? Or maybe a six line wrasse ? Just remember the wrasse will need to go in last due to potential behavioral issues. Neon goby is small and bright as well.

yeah, thinking no six line cause of the behavioral issues
I really want either the flame hawk, or a clown goby. maybe even those tiny calm wrasses
idk if I wanna risk a yasha, cause when I had mine, he kept going into the filter chambers cause he was sooo small

Tank is too small for a hawkfish. Go with the clown goby . I highly recommend the Hectors goby as well. Will have no issue with other goby as it’s a mid strata fish. This was my Hectors.
