Opinions, Maxima clam not cheap. Arrived today one day late and 52-degree water temp. The clam is 2 inches which is already a negative. Chance of living?

Well I would put it in a quarantine tank and go from there. What was the temp of the bag when it arrived? I would keep it out of light for the rest of the day!!

Also, the size isn't a negative, just means that it's aqua-cultured and not wild, which is a plus. Agree, see how it does over the next few days. I would ask the seller if they know what par it was under previous to shipping. This will give you a starting point when placing it. It's better that the water was cold and not hot. Too hot usually causes more issues. Keep us posted.

I’ve had this happen. It takes them weeks to fully open but they’ll be ok. Make sure the park is 350+
