NEED HELP ASP WITH

Bought this little green-mouth Favia about 5–6 weeks ago. Looked great for the first month, then the sides slowly turned tan → muddy brown → feeding tentacles completely disappeared.
I run a Nicrew NavaReef 65W on

Current state
brown/tan in spots

green mouths left

Zero feeding tentacles day or night
Sitting literally 2–3 inches off the sand


Plan (starting tonight):
Moving it straight to the top third of the rockwork

I have a floating rock shelf with 3 layers, placed what i think is a favia on the top layer and it responded extremely well, got more spots, a growth ring , and a third color, some maroon. You water looks clean so not sure what the issue could be

This tells me you already pretty much know/suspect what the issue is – which is good; and makes sense since you are there and not us!

Did They kind of look the same and have the same problem? Or was yours different?

For the most part yes. I'm guessing that the brown edge you are seeing is the skeleton underneath that is growing a little film algae on it after the favia retracted. How quickly did you put it in the spot it's currently in? My experience has also been that they and most corals i've gotten is that they don't do well if i don't leave them in lower light conditions for an extended period after putting them in my tank. I suspect this is due to them needing more time to acclimate to the new environment. Regarding parameters, how consistent are they? Like are you able to keep them pretty much spot on for long durations or are they constantly swinging lower and you need to make adjustments to get them back up to where they should be? If that is the case, corals don't like that at all.
