need help fast with starfish

My starfish is a orange linkia I think is the right name. In the past week his leg has almost rotted off and today there is like black strings like hanging from him. The other legs are starting to look bad as well. What might this be? Thanks for any help

Leg lose could be a few things, most of the time it is lack of food. It could be a predator attacking it or it is sick.

But this happened to mine his legs just like popped off it is because they are starving.

How was the starfish acclimated?

I hate to say it but it sounds like the starfish is dying. :(

Its legs are more decaying off and not falling off

Did the drip for 3 hrs adding about 1/3 the water evert hr. Is there any coming back from it or is it dead for sure

Well sounds like you did things rite. We had a blue do the same thing, It just slowly over the corse of a month fell apart after being in our tank for awhile. Was acclimated the same way and all levels were where they needed to be and I know it wasn't starving cause I would target feed it just to make sure but I guess u win some and you loss some. It sucks cause there awesome starfish. The orange is supposed to be more hardy in an aquarium than the blue as well. That's about the extent of my knowledge with this one, maybe someone else can chime in if they know more. Sorry to hear about it.

Do you have stray voltage in the tank? That will cause him to disintegrate from what I've read. Not sure? Check the net on how to test for stray voltage.
