Hi
Converting to a new tank, Everything was going good till I decided to put in the sand. I should have done this before water (mistake). I now have a major cloud in the tank. Turned everything off hoping to settle, its getting better but not by much.
Looking for any ideas

Thanks Mike

seconded. No real harm done.

Unless this is a tank upgrade and you are reusing old sand without rinsing it, you are good

I havent yet but will be adding crushed coral from old tank. Do I need to rinse that before adding?

Yes, rinse the old. You might also want/need to gravelvac the new sand to get rid of the fine silt after it settles.

that white cloud could take a few days to go away. you will get a white film on everything, pumps, walls, etc. It can also make your protein skimmer go crazy. Tends to get caught in the filter socks. It can actually ruin your first set of filter socks (almost like there is concrete in them, been there, done that). Just keep changing your socks and it will eventually go away.

I hope you rinsed the sand (especially if its used sand), if not, I would pull it out and rinse it.
