Hey guys, I just bought two bubble tip anemones and one is not doing too good. I turned off the powerheads hoping it would acclimate but it remains upside down. It's been like this for two days. Any suggestions? Appreciate any feed back.

Is that a peppermint shrimp? Firstly I would discard him to sump or pet store because they eat anemones lol I learned the hard way and an anemone laying upside down is not a good sign could be an infection or torn foot not sure

Parameters are fine, tank is 8 months old, using a reduced David Saxby setting on a AI 16HD, and used a drip acclimation before adding to the tank.

On the right it looks like I can see missentrial filaments which would mean a torn foot and why the nem looks ticked af , it can heal just needs stable parameters and nothing else to go bad

Yes, it's a peppermint shrimp. I've been trying to catch it for weeks. Thanks for the help, I'll keep an eye on it, hope it pulls through.

please post your parameters because it might help. The anemone might never have been that healthy and could be totally unrelated to what you have done

Bottle trap for peppermint shrimp. If the nem is damaged or ill, peps will typically go after them.

Small tub with no sand for nem to rest in. I have found that btas heal quicker when there is damage to the foot if I put them in a little Tupperware container.

Also, go ahead an post parameters as a just in case. Never hurts to know all of the facts.

And last but not least, can you post a pic of the nem doing good?
