water parameters are: Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 0, Phosphate 0, salinity 1.026, calcium 420

Hi, welcome to the forum!
That suggests some kind of sponge to me as well.
Looks like a fairly new tank; you will find endless weird stuff popping up from time to time as it matures. :)

I can’t see it real well, and stupid question but is it plastic, maybe something dropped in the tank.

Unless it is stuck to the rock.

I too believe it to be a sponge, but I am no expert with this subject matter.
