I bought a used red sea reefer 450. Went to fill and leak test. Bulkheads are all leaking
After doing some research it looks like all the bulkhead nuts are missing to seal the bulkhead. Of course seller says it was always like that. Not sure I believe that. I can't find these bulkhead nuts anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hoping maybe someone has an old cracked tank or something that I could buy the bulkhead nuts from

I bought 425xl used before, i got same experience. I changed all the rings and down pipe(the main water down pipe). You can google the model PN and order online. It’s pretty easy to fix actually. But in the beginning, I wasted lot time to figure out.

I have a complete o ring kit but thats not the problem. The bulkhead nuts are missing. If I dont find those nuts I can't squeeze the bulkhead to the glass to seal the bulkheads. Its not leaking from the pipe o rings

Wow, I thought it was easy and didn’t read the whole post. I guess you might contact redsea if they can help. I bet they got more sources where to get those accessories.

Eric, you need this part.

But don't stop there the plumbing on the red sea is terrible. Wait and get these parts as well and convert it over from Metric and hard plumb it with a gate valve. it will make life so much easier. the hose bard will thread out and you can use this threaded adaptor to convert to 1 inch. Jut know you have to use a few wraps of Teflon. I recommend blue monster Teflon tape it's thick and it fills the threads much better. My tank has been running with no leaking for almost 1.5 years. I've never had to touch it. I have the same tank.

If these nuts don't fix it then I have a bigger problem. I just checked I have the fitting with the removable barb fitting that you sent a pic of. So I can do that. I had all the plumbing connected today and none of it was leaking at the pipe o rings just on the outside diameter where bulkhead comes through the glass

Unless they are not using the stock plumbing on the overflow. Im not sure why they would change that. Its actually pretty decent.

screws into this, the top threads screw into the threads on the tank. the bottom connects to the fitting above.

The one that leKed the most was the drain with the built in gate valve. But again, it only leaked at the bulkhead and glass not on the pipes

Thats exactly what I have. But none of that actually squeezes the bulkhead tight to the glass. If you look under your tank you will see the bulkhead nuts installed from the factory. Not something you typically would mess with
