need help with a camera

maybe some can help me out...... i have a Nikon S8100 coolpix and i have been having trouble getting the cmaera to capture the true colors of my corals...they always show up blue......is there someone with any tricks or anything maybe some kind of filters ????? Please help

i tihm i maybe close....adjusted the white ballance and a few other settings..... how does this look ???

White balance is what you need to play with the get the right colors, unless you plan on using your computer to post process them. If you have the option to set a custom white balance, try putting a piece of white plastic in the tank to set the balance and see how that looks.

I honesty dont think the pictures look bad,but just a bit yellow!

Maybe adjust some of the white balance to the bluer end.Maybe that would help,Im actully not sure,I think they just look yellow

You need to set a custom white balance. Instructions are in your manual. You'll need a white surface you can put in your tank that is large enough to fill the camera frame. Angle it at about the same angle as the face or the coral you want to photograph so you'll get the same angle of light reflection. When you're done photographing, you'll need to delete the custom white balance or regular photos will look goofy.

Wow I didn't know that. I'm going to try that too. I always wondered why everything looked so freaking blue.
