I’ll look into that. Any other additional advice would be helpful on my decision too and thanks in advance for any suggestions or help.
Well, the first place you should start is how you want your tank to look and what’s going to be in the tank. Do you want blanket coverage? Do you want shimmer? Do you want heavy blues? Do you want a whiter spectrum?
Then you can go into the aesthetics of how to mount the light or how you want it to look above your tank or how many power bricks or plug-ins one light may take. You can look at the various apps and controls every light has or is required to have or how they chain or Daisy chain together or if you want to go with a hybrid light or something like old-school T5 and an LED or if you want to go with bars and then a main light or puck lights or whatever.
How high above the tank you would like them mounted and the various lens applications are various requirements for different lights at different heights. There is a lot to look into with so many options for a light that honestly you just need to spend a week or two and just go over all the lights. Coming in here and asking for a light is nothing but asking a biased echo chamber.
The best thing you can do is spend a week or two and go down every light rabbit hole you can go down and you’ll clearly find your answer. People can recommend, it’s fine, but it’s like asking me what my favorite sports team is and wanting you to get on board with it.
It’s honestly too big of a pool to play in and you’ll do it yourself a better service to research everything and then come back and see what the people have to say and you’ll have a little bit of understanding of what or where they’re coming from.
BRS has a lot of older lighting videos and tests so you can kind of understand heights, par levels, different light arrangements what you can and cannot grow, etc. Granted they use certain brands, but those brands can be replaced or replicated with different brands but it is just a good tutorial of a lot of stuff about lights lol
Lights can be and are very expensive, take your time, it’s gonna be one of the top three things you buy for your set up. And if you do have a little bit of time, you can wait for some deals to drop or be grinding the marketplace on here for a good deal on some good used lights.
