I just retested and mag still looks high tried 3 times and kept getting 1600+
With mag, simply add none and it comes down. In addition, assure the salt mix you are using is not high in mag content as some tend to be. While high mag is not dangerous, it can affect more delicate fish.

Hey guys so i just got back from my LFS and got a API spin test done and their telling me my magnesium is WAY too high. Heres a picture of all the parameters they tested for im not sure why its showing salinity @ 1.024 because when we used the hanna salinity checker it reads 1.026. Is there anyway to get my magnesium down? Im not dosing anything just regular water changes . The reason i got the water tested today is because a new torch i just got 2 weeks ago isint looking great. Please let me know what you guys think.

If you're referring to Aqua Spin Tester those #s are always off..I use it as a reference just out of curiosity sometimes. Do an ATI ICP immediately because honestly I don't trust any mag test. My trident reads 100ppm above ICP & all the other reagent testers give different #s..

If your Mag really is high, than it is more than likely due to having a high salinity. Magnesium is used by corals, but at a very tiny amount. Unless you are dosing magnesium, the only way to get high magnesium is a high salinity.

I would check your salinity meter for accuracy.
