Need help with this devils hand. Nitrates and phosphate high (working on bringing down gradually) this devil hand never opened its about a month old and now I can’t tell if it’s dying. Branches look retracted and now end turning white breaking off. Question is it dying? If so I will pull it out. Does it have a chance of surviving?

What do you have for lights and flow?
A leather being closed for a month is not a big deal but it shouldn't turn white and have parts fall off.

I checked out your previous post, you have 2 primes on a 55, to me thats low lighting, I saw some of your corals that are off to the side stretching up for light in your other pic. AI Prime is like a spotlight, but it doesn't have good spread. If its the same tank then it might be the same issue IMO

No fish picking I just have two clowns and a goby

I might try and move it in to a little more flow and see if it perks up.

Yes 2 ai prime 16 running on acclimation. Ai told me to be conservative when going back to original settings. The previous tank 40 gal was neglected for a year my brother in law kept it alive but it didn’t have normal maintenance. So I had a spike of .9 above of phosphate and nitrates around 100+. I’ve been able to bring nitrates down slowly with water changes. The new tank is 55gal and we just keep doing water changes. I did dose phosphate e 2x first 1ml waited a week then dosed 2ml. The devils palm does. appear it react to phos e even though its put to the intake. I can up the lighting but afraid it would just further stress this thing out

Sorry but I think it is a lighting issue, IMO even at 100% it is not strong enough for your size tank. Me personally I would put 2 x 100 watt lights on this tank.

So for the time being let’s up the lighting and see if it offers some help and then I’ll get better lighting, if you don’t mind can you send me over some suggestions

I have tried nicrew and popbloom brands, both are lower budget lighting that have good reputations. Others with good reputation are smatfarm, vivarspectra, All of these have several threads on this forum. I'm sure there are others...
