The salinity is 1.015-1.020 and mimics an estuary. I have one mangrove and just did a water change cause of an algae bloom. This tank has not been fed, or anything in over a year. I want this to happen with my saltwater tank. I only wanna top it off with fresh water any feed them. The other tank makes food and everything in there is happy and fat as can be lol. I love bioactive for this reason but thia brackish tank is giving me difficulties.

Blue lights and iPhone without filter don’t mix well for the picture, but I’m curious about a change here.

Tank is 150 gal 48x30x24. It’s been running for about 14-15 months. I got the urge to change the middle up and remove rocks to create a larger negative space. Would that be dumb? I’ve got a lot of rocks and then marine pure in the sump. I know it would make a dent for a second, but I’d rather dent it now than 8 years from now.

Thanks for your help!

Need input please!? I think this scape looks good and I’ve got plenty of space for flow. My mp40s can push water from front to back unobstructed. Coral placement shouldn’t be difficult as I think there is a very diverse bit of real estate for mostly sps and lps and the random softie. Also think I have just enough space in case I wanna add a rock or two for something invasive.

If you need an outside perspective to help with improving your aquascape, just post here a few shots of your tank, and will try my best shot at providing specific advise according to your goals for the tank.

Sometimes I can just answer here, show the alterations using photoshop or make a video.

Just post here front shots with your cellphone/camera positioned at 3 different heights (sand level, centre and water level) and also a couple of angled photos, so that I can have a better understanding of your tank's layout.

This is a subject that is surprisingly not researched by most reefers and I have given some thought and some time ago I did a similar exercise in another forum.

It's also a great way for everyone to learn from each other and see a few freshwater techniques that we can apply and also many others that are specific for reef tanks.

In the meantime, if you want some inspiration here are a few videos I made with suggestions for different tank shapes.

Plz help choose. Slightly more inclined towards second setup even though they're built with first setup in mind.

Most likely add more flat bottom rock rubble for RFA, GSP and shroom islands

12G tank, 24" wide, 12" front to back, 10" depth

Inhabitants:
Lots of rock flower anemones
1-2 blue stripe pipefish
1 Shrimp & goby
1 5~6" squamosa clam
Possible future maxima clams
Soft corals dominant, maybe a few LPS.
Macro algae.

So I am making my scape for my new Reefer350. 73g display.

I just had a little baby girl named Gemma so I am designing the rock scape to spell out GEM when viewed straight on yet have depth and plenty of places for coral. No where near done but I would like to get some Input on how I'm doing so far

Suppose I added sand in first then my rock second. How do I get the rock to touch the bottom glass without doing the laborious task of removing all the sand in the tank? There will be sand burrowing inhabitants so i'm concern with potential rock slides.

Worked a little on my 66g SCA (32x24x20). Nothing is glued and I was a little hesitant with stacking arches. I like the island on the right and the left is a little meh to me. I plan on a mixed tank with a few anemones. Any suggestions.

Hey all looking for advice on first aqua scape #1 has larger arches. The second one multiple angles, not sure which i like best. Rock outside blue is just extra rock. Plan for fish sps maybe Lps. Should i have more horizontal surfaces?
Rough draft. Will chisel and smooth out seams later.

Looking for feedback. Going left to right the left is two pieces with a base rock. Second is two pieces although the base pieces is flat and buried (like a small frisbee). Third (middle) is just one rock. Fourth is two rocks but glued together. The right rock structure is five rocks stacked but not glued. 73 gallon tank (reefer 350).

What kind of Glue did you or are you using to put this Scape together. I'm in the process at this time and not having a lot of luck with Super Glue's or hot glue.?

I don't use glue , i use quick drying cement.
Superstrong and takes the colour of the rest of your reef fast.
Use it to glue the frags as well.

This is what i got so far using AF Rock:

reefside 1.jpg

Reefside 2.jpg

Size: about 30cm (12") height / 45 Cm (18") wide...

Its not that much in weight but im going to put some live rock in my refugium for a good bacterial start. Corals: Sps/Lps/buttons:)

I like it. It kind of reminds me of my scape a little. Do you have a FTS with it in the tank? I think the different heights help it out too so its not on the same on both sides.

So here is my attempt at hnsa (habitat negative space aquascaping. It is going into a 425xl. The pvc is the tank border minus the 2 inches off all sides already so if any parts come right up to the pvc that is not the wall of the tank. That is the 2 inch border edge. Let me know what you guys think. There will be 1 to 1.5 inches of sand in the tank. Going with Fiji pink. The large structures and the rock on the far far right will be at the glass. The other small pieces of rock will be on top of the sand bed. Those are rocks that have been glued together to add some crevices for crustaceans and things like that.
nothjng is 100 percent complete yet. Still a lot of emarco needed to bind it all together permanently and then cover the emarco with sand to hide my joints. What do you guys think?
I’m hoping for plenty of fish safe space and coral placement ability. I want a mixed reef with at least a few sps.
