need advice about my reef. sum of my soft corrals looks ok the other's slowly melting or became very small

Please post some pictures in white light (no blues), this will really help us. Please also advise what test kits you use? What is your lighting and what do you have for water movement? Thanks
 
  • Calcium 300 ppm → This is very low for most corals, especially SPS/LPS. Target 400–450 ppm. Low Ca will stunt growth and cause tissue recession.
  • KH 7 dKH → On the low side for a reef; target 8–9 dKH to support calcification and pH stability.
  • PO₄ 0 ppm → Zero phosphate can actually stress corals and contribute to tissue recession, especially with low Ca and KH. Very low phosphate combined with low alkalinity can make corals “melt” faster.
  • NO₃ 25 ppm → Acceptable, but combined with 0 phosphate, corals may still struggle.

recommendation

Raise calcium to ~420–450 ppm
gradually with a dosing system or kalkwasser/top-off.
  1. Increase alkalinity to 8–9 dKH slowly.
  2. Maintain magnesium ~1350–1400 ppm (yours is fine at 1380).
  3. Consider a tiny, controlled phosphate dose (0.03–0.05 ppm) — zero phosphate can harm corals over time.
  4. Monitor corals daily; tissue loss often stabilizes once Ca and KH are corrected.
