Oh wow that’s a very thin fish. Does it eat?

I assume the jaw does not close?

I’d say start with some epsom salt (1 tablespoon per 5 gallons) to help with swelling. Don’t dose more than twice. Do this in a quarantine and then treat with the antibiotics below:

Then I’d source acriflavine for a bath, followed by treatment in a quarantine with kanaplex, metroplex, and furan 2.

yes he does eat
I’d also feed medicated food — seachem focus and metroplex soaked foods. I mix, microwave, and strain frozen foods in a a cup and feed for a week medicated foods. Repeat for 14 days total.

I suspect internal parasites as well if he eats and is still that thin.

Agree on the internal parasites.

Mix metroplex or general cure with focus and frozen food. Feed this for 3 weeks.

Sounds like an internal issue is fairly likely. Make sure you also treat with prazi to target internal worms also.

i need to internal parasite and prazi for internal worm

Prazipro is not highly effective on internal parasites. Metronidazole is a better choice for that. API General Cure combines metro and praziquantel ( the active ingredient in prazipro) together in a powdered form. Mixing this with focus (which binds meds to food) and frozen food is a great choice for internal parasites

Metronidazole - treats internal protists, prazi treats internal worms. I can't find a source that talks about which is more common, but I'd wager that worms are. General cure has both and is an easy go-to though.

How much are you feeding him? He may very well have parasites, but he’s also a big fish and will require a lot of food.

Using the little spoon that comes with metroplex, use 1 measure per tablespoon of prepared frozen food.

I think focus says to use 5 to 1 ratio. I always use in QT so I always just use 1 scoop of focus. If you are treating in a DT I would follow instructions on bottle. Also not a bad idea to run carbon if treating DT with medicated food just in case any leaches out.
