Hi-

Hoping you can provide a recommendation for a light to use on my nano tank. The tank dimensions are 12*12*12 inches which includes a 3" sump across back of tank so display portion is 9*12*12 inches.

Currently the tank is stocked with a ROSE BTA, zoathids, 2 clowns and a chromis.

I'm looking for an appropriate sized light for the tank that will support the BTA and corals I add.

Thanks Anthony

AI Prime HD or Kessil a160we tuna blue with a spectral controller. AI is probably cheaper tho! Both these can provide even enough light for SPS. You would probably wanna start at 20-30% power, im no expert tho.

Depends on what type of corals your going to be keeping. When I had a boyu set up I had green element lights, which was excellent. Follow the link in my signature and the first picture you see is the tank with lights.

how about buy a light that supports what you want to keep before you buy what you want to keep.

Everyone makes mistakes and impulse buys, he has those corals and that BTA already so lets just focus on helping him get the right light now. However yes good advice for future purchases.

I do have a good light that I thought would support the bta but it seems the bta is not thriving as I'd like. The light I have is an aqueon led with 4 blue actinic lights. Looking to get a better light.

Ur reply is not helpful just condescending

wasn't meant to be , but ya I guess it came off a little strong . How about other conditions of the tank . Alkalinity, calcium mag, ph ? many factors can go into unhappy corals not just lighting. If water parameters are good and stable not enough light is better than too much.

Here's a video of the lights I used (green elements) I've long sold the tank but still have the lights. I really liked them. The coral growth was grate under them and at 1 point I did keep a anemone. Which I still have!

Nice tank. Can't find much info on the lights though. Not on brs or marine depot
