Long story short, he’s been in a 350Gallon tank with multiple other fish, went on vacation, found him like this once we got back!

I know the culprit is definitely my male Niger trigger (he’s a little aggressive), but has never done it this bad or to any other fish! This guy has been in the tank for well over a month with no issues… until of course I go out on vacation for a week!

I need help, what can I do to help this guy? He’s pretty beat up and bad! Still eating and swimming around, has been moved to my medic tank!

To add, I also have a miniatus Grouper in the tank (been trying to get rid of him) he’s about 6” - 7”. I say this but he doesn’t mess with any of the other big fish unless they get close to his home and he kind of just runs them off?

And he’s ate some of my wife’s “Nemo’s” which is why he has to go!

So no one was being fed while you were gone?
If not, there's why you have a mola mola now.

That sucks. I'm surprised he didnt die from that.

This batfish is very damaged and often a victim of aggression and will need to be isolated into a different t6ank or sump and . . . Should Not be in with ant groupers, triggers or similar fish and even clowns. Miniatus has teeth and will use them and try to swallow what des not fit in its mouth, pretty fish but same color as the devil himself

Yes I had someone feeding them, they said the bat fish didn’t look like this the day before.

Wow even clowns? No other fish bother him, and yes I agree I’m trying to get rid of the grouper I’ve been trying!

I wish they weren't aggressive as they are, but they grow to the size they do for a reason.
I like miniatus. They're so cool, but they are mean. You have to be careful feeding them too. 😁

I would say this is not caused by clowns and a larger batfish should be ok with them or other non-aggressive fish. Especially if the batfish is an adult or larger than the others - the problem is that stores are selling fish that are quite small - and this can lead to problems (I can;t tell - how big was your bat)? In any case it's a serious wound - and certainly needs separation and antibiotics. I would also consider a varied diet -with possibly a vitamin supplement.

I would say before hand he was about 4” to 5” top to bottom. He’s been separated since this was posted and has been eating normally. What kind of antibiotics could I run in the tank with him do you think?

So - you now have him in a separate 'hospital tank' I believe - I would use neoplex or kanaplex. If you can't get those message - there are others.
