Need Ro/ di help...

Here is a question I have asked a lot of people and can’t seem to get a real answer. It’s about my Ro/di system. I’ve got the 6 stage and I added dual dionization canisters at the end.
I have it set up and previously I’ve had mixture of resins.
I seem to be depleting my resin extremely quickly with basically a tds reading of less than 50 coming in and the lowest I can get it is between 4-6 when it comes out.
I can make maybe 50 gallons and I have to refill the mixed di resin. So I decided to try cation to anion to mixed di resin.
In the 30 gallons I have made the cation is completely exhausted.... the anion looks untouched and my mixed resin is already 1/3 gone.
What could be happening and what should I be doing. All the filters and membranes are less than 6 months old of use. I am wasting what seems a fortune on resin.
This is well water and I’ve had it tested and it’s a little high in calcium but that was about it. Hardness is not off the scale but it’s harder than soft.
What might be happening? What should I try?

Have you tested your well water for high CO2? Is this a new issue after adding the extra DI stages? Or has this been a problem since setting up the system to begin with?

Have you tested your well water for high CO2? Is this a new issue after adding the extra DI stages? Or has this been a problem since setting up the system to begin with?
Everything was great for like 5 months and then everything went to crap

What kind of TDS meter do you have? And do you know the readings Before the membrane(I'm guessing this is 50?), after the membrane but before the DI?

No, I haven’t tested the co2

This is correct, I have the one that brs sells and yes, those are the before and after reading

If your TDS is 50 going into your single membrane and 5ish coming out, it's not performing the way it should. What kind of pressure do you have coming into the system?

If your TDS is 50 going into your single membrane and 5ish coming out, it's not performing the way it should. What kind of pressure do you have coming into the system?
I have a booster pump set at 80

Agree. With quality membrane, you should be seeing 98%+ reduction. So 50 in, you should have 1 coming out. Something is not right.

In addition, with well water, you should test for CO2. If you have pH ability, it's a simple test to see if CO2 is an issue. CO2 will eat through DI in no time at all.

Do you suggest using the calculator or a test kit
If a test kit...which one

If you're talking about testing for CO2, all you need is a means to measure pH. Draw tap water into a glass. Measure pH. ...(most likely acidic if CO2 present). Let the glass of water sit overnight. Measure pH again. If you see it's gone more alkaline, that's the CO2 leaving the water.

Ok so test pH of the water coming from my tap now
Test again in am
If pH is lower it’s probably the co2

No, once the CO2 dissipates from the water (carbonic acid), it should be higher....closer to pH 7.0.

I would suggest looking up your municipality's water test results online to see what's in your water.

If you reach out to Spectrapure, they are very good with helping you find the correct filter combination for your specific water supply.

I live in NYC and had a hellish time making RODI water. They found out that my source water was exceptionally pure, but had a lot of fine sediment in it, which exhausted my BRS standard issue 8 stage filter setup rather quickly.
