I have a 75G tank with a 6bulb teklight about 5" above the water. I keep my rics at the very bottom of my tank. My rics do not reproduce, slowly shrivel up, and turn white over a few months. I spot feed them mysis and squid. Any tips?

Are they all not doing well?? Are any of them in shaded areas? What are your parameters??

Some are in the shade and some are in the open:

SG: 1.025
Ammo:0
Trite:0
Trate:5-10
Calc: 430
Mag: 1370
pH: 8.2
dKH: 11

I haven't seen anything bothering them. It could be flow, they are getting hit with about 1400 gph from one side indirectly.

i had that problem before also. picked up a beautiful 5 inch rainbow ric. it did the same thing as yours did. i find putting it in low flow, medium light seems to be it's sweet spot. once it acclimates i move them more up my tank like halfway up.

Turning white--- Bleaching is often the result of too little light , while it is best to start rics out in a lower light setting when adding them to a new enviroment most times thay will need to be moved higher to keep there zoohexathane active & feeding them over the long hull I like tostart moveing mine up in about 2 weeks after introduction for avarage Yumas & flordias
1 week for hatains or longer if a specimin seems sensitive

Lighting:

6x39watt tek light with ati an kz bulbs. Bulbs are 5 months old. I don't see how they are not getting enough light.

+1 for halfway up, that's where both my rics and yumas seem to do the best (20G tank though, so I guess it's all relative.. but they're probably 8"-10" from the surface, lights another 4" above that)
