Need Some Help!!

I currently have a 48'' ATI PM 8 bulb.. I lost a ballast few days ago, reefgeek sent a replacement right away, thank god!! Before i start taking this thing apart, is there any tips or pointers you guys that have done this can give me?? Any advice would be great!!

It's a pretty easy procedure. Just make sure you have good connections before firing the ballast.

Yes, when you do it take the old ballast loose with the wires still attached. Then insert the new one and one by one cut the wires loose from the old one and connect them to the new one as you go so each wire gets connected back up where it should be.

And as mufret stated make sure all your connections are good and tight, loose wires can cause fires....

Check, recheck, and triple check your wiring.

And right before you close it up check it again.

So i changed the ballast, plugged it in and pop, blew the gfi... Pulled it back out and i found a pinched exposed wire, fixed then replaced... Now replaced bulbs and plugged in and nothing from any of the 8 bulbs, they start to fire then go rite out:sad: I'm no electric guro, i don't know what to do!!!!!!!!!! Reefgeek said i could ship it to them to fix, 4 days in transit each way + time to fix it:cry: Only other light i have is a 36'' 4 39 watt and i have a 120 mostly sps... Throw some suggestions at me, or just come shoot me please..lol

I would put the 36" on the tank, try and borrow another light and send it back to Reefgeek or try to find an electrician locally that can look at it. He can at least narrow down the problem.

I have a master electrician looking at it tomorrow, man i hope he can fix it... I'm getting by, but corals are not digging it to much:sad: Thank's though!!
