Gem tang..... new to tank, would you expect it to be aggressive to other smaller very passive fish, or are they going to be fine with passive non-tangs?

I may take a shot, but don’t want to have a problem with existing inhabitants

IME, it is typically the latter; however, I have had my yellow tang chase off a Royal Gramma that was hovering around the YT's new claimed rock overhang.. it was short lived though and they both get along fine now.

It's a zebrasoma so it has the potential to be a bit aggressive. Probably less so with other fish but always a possibility.

Have you tried the mirror trick? Worked absolute wonders for me. My purple tang was a jerk and would relentlessly attack all new arrivals. Used the mirror trick every time and he’d attack his reflection for a couple days and that was it

Personally the only Zebrasoma Tang I trust is the Scopas Tang. The others will all bully if given the opportunity. IMHO it's best to have another fish or two that can keep their attitude in check (ie Tang of another type).

I'm really thought about picking one up as well. What a deal! Unfortunately I already have a blue and purple tang so don't think it's a good idea.
